Fish shooting games are the one casino category that started in Malaysian arcades before it went online. The cabinet version, with six players around a screen and a joystick each, is still in shopping malls from Penang to Johor Bahru; the online version keeps the shared room, the cannon and the bullet cost, and adds a cashier. It is also the category where players most often lose track of money, because a bet of MYR 0.50 “per shot” feels small right up until you count how many shots a boss fish takes.
This guide covers fishing games as they exist at the casinos we have reviewed for Malaysian players: which titles the lobbies carry and who makes them, how bet-per-shot and fish values turn into a house edge, where the much-searched “Ice Fishing” game fits, and what actually changes your results. Game and provider facts were checked on BK8’s fishing lobby in September 2026 and in the reviews on this site.
For a deep dive on one title, see our Fishing God review and Fishing War review; for the classic cabinet game, our Ocean King tips.
Quick Answer
Most complete fishing lobby: BK8, with eight fishing providers (Spadegaming, JILI, Fa Chai, JDB, V-Power, CQ9, YesGetRich, Dragoon Soft) and Ocean King in the arcade section.
Titles to start with: Fishing God and Fishing War (Spadegaming) for classic play, Alien Hunter and Zombie Party (Spadegaming) for faster rooms, Royal Fishing (JILI) for bigger multipliers.
“Ice Fishing”: not on any reviewed casino’s lobby that we could find, and the sites promoting it name no developer. Details below.
The number that matters: bet per shot multiplied by shots per minute. A MYR 0.50 room at two shots a second is MYR 60 a minute of exposure.
Bonuses: welcome offers usually exclude fishing; rebates and cashback usually include it.
What a Fish Shooting Game Actually Is
Every fish shooting game works the same way underneath the artwork. You join a room with up to three, four or six other players. Fish of different sizes swim across a shared screen, each carrying a multiplier: a small fish might pay 2x your bet per shot, a turtle 20x, a boss such as Fishing God’s Dragon King several hundred times. You choose a bet per shot, aim a cannon at the bottom of the screen and fire. Each bullet costs your bet. When a bullet hits a fish, the game rolls a random number to decide whether the fish dies; if it does, you are paid its multiplier times your bet per shot.
Three things follow from that design. First, a bigger fish takes more hits on average, so the payout is spread across many bullets rather than one. Second, the game is random at the point of the kill, not at the point of aim; a perfectly placed shot can still miss. Third, weapons and power-ups, such as Fishing War’s bombs or Alien Hunter’s lasers, change how many fish a shot touches but not the return the room is configured to pay. Auto-fire and lock-on buttons exist to keep you shooting; they do not improve odds.
Best Fishing Games at Malaysian Casinos
| Game | Provider | What sets it apart | Where we found it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fishing God | Spadegaming | The reference fish shooting game in Malaysia: three room tiers, Dragon King boss, daily tasks and events; the title most players learn on | BK8 top games; Maxim88; our review |
| Fishing War | Spadegaming | Faster rooms with bombs and freeze weapons; boss fish carry the biggest multipliers in the Spadegaming range | BK8 top games; Maxim88; our review |
| Alien Hunter | Spadegaming | Space theme instead of an ocean; lasers and area weapons; same bet-per-shot structure | BK8 top games; Maxim88 |
| Zombie Party | Spadegaming | Zombie targets rather than fish; quicker rounds, aimed at players who want shorter sessions | BK8 top games |
| Royal Fishing | JILI | JILI’s flagship fishing title with higher boss multipliers and special-weapon drops | BK8 top games; JILI is also a Maxim88 provider |
| Ocean King | Arcade classic, online versions from several studios | The cabinet game that started the category: gold and dark green creatures, rooms by bet size, boss whales | BK8 arcade section; our tips guide |
| Fish Hunter | Various | Generic name used by several studios for their entry-level fishing room | BK8 |
| Fa Chai, JDB, CQ9 fishing titles | Fa Chai, JDB Gaming, CQ9 | Provider-branded fishing rooms with their own bosses and jackpots; titles change by lobby | BK8 provider tabs |
Every title in the table is one we could see on a reviewed casino’s lobby or that a review on this site covers. Game names in lobbies change often, so treat this as a map rather than a census: if a title is missing from your casino’s fishing tab this month, another from the same provider will be there.
The Providers Behind the Fishing Lobby
BK8’s fishing lobby lists eight studios, and the same names recur across the other casinos we review. They fall into three groups.
- Spadegaming. The Malaysian-market specialist behind Fishing God, Fishing War, Alien Hunter and Zombie Party. If a Malaysian casino has one fishing provider, it is usually this one. Maxim88 lists Spadegaming specifically for fishing.
- JILI. A newer studio, active since 2020, whose Royal Fishing sits in BK8’s top five and whose catalogue Maxim88 carries for both slots and fishing. JILI titles tend to push bigger multipliers and more weapon drops.
- Fa Chai, JDB Gaming, CQ9, V-Power, YesGetRich, Dragoon Soft. Asian studios that each supply a handful of fishing rooms. They are worth opening when the Spadegaming rooms are crowded, because room population affects how quickly bosses are killed and by whom.
Our provider guide covers the slot and live studios; fishing is a smaller world and this list is most of it.
Where to Play: Casinos With Real Fishing Lobbies
| Casino | Fishing lobby | Titles verified | Deposit from | Withdrawal | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BK8 | Dedicated tab with 8 providers, plus arcade | Fishing God, Fishing War, Alien Hunter, Zombie Party, Royal Fishing, Ocean King, Fish Hunter | MYR 10 (e-wallets) | 92% within 15 min | ReviewPlay Now |
| Maxim88 | Spadegaming and JILI fishing | Fishing God, Fishing War, Alien Hunter | MYR 50 | Crypto 10–15 min | ReviewPlay Now |
| me88 | Fishing and arcade section | Fishing games listed; titles vary | MYR 50 | E-wallets 5–30 min | ReviewPlay Now |
| 96M | Fishing games in an eight-category lobby | Fishing games listed; titles vary | MYR 50 | E-wallets under 10 min | ReviewPlay Now |
BK8 is the clear pick if fishing is the main reason you are opening an account: the lobby is a first-class section with its own banner and provider tabs, not a corner of the slots page. Maxim88 is the alternative if you want the same Spadegaming titles with a lighter 28x wagering on the main bonus.
The “Ice Fishing” Game: What It Is and Where It Actually Exists
“Ice fishing game” is one of the most searched fishing terms in Malaysia, so we looked for it. What we found is worth saying plainly.
- None of the reviewed casinos list it. BK8’s fishing lobby, the largest we track, has no title called Ice Fishing among its eight providers as of September 2026.
- The sites that promote it name no developer. The pages ranking for “Ice Fishing Game Malaysia” describe a generic fish shooting game with an ice theme, quote a 96% return and a MYR 1 to MYR 500 bet per shot, and attribute it to no studio. A real casino game has a provider, a certification and a help screen; a page that cannot name one is selling a landing page, not a game.
- Ice-themed rooms do exist inside real titles. Several providers run winter or arctic rooms as seasonal skins on their standard fishing engine. If you want the theme, look for it inside a Spadegaming, JILI or CQ9 title on a casino you can verify.
Our advice: search your casino’s fishing tab for the word. If it is there, read the help screen for the provider and RTP before you buy bullets. If it is not, play a title you can verify. Our guide to spotting unsafe casinos covers the other signs of a doorway site.
Bet Per Shot, Fish Values and RTP
The house edge in a fishing game hides in three numbers.
| Number | What it means | Typical range | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bet per shot | The price of one bullet | MYR 0.10 to MYR 10+, by room | Multiply by shots per minute to see real exposure |
| Fish value | Multiplier paid when a fish dies | 2x for small fish to several hundred times for bosses | Big fish pay more but take more bullets on average |
| Return to player | Share of bullets returned as wins over time | About 95% to 97%, set per room | Published in the help screen; can differ by casino |
Work it through at MYR 0.50 per shot and one shot per second. Sixty shots a minute is MYR 30 of bullets. At a 96% return the room keeps MYR 1.20 of that minute on average, or MYR 72 an hour. That is the price of an hour’s play, and it does not change whether you aim well or badly. What changes is variance: chasing a boss with a 300x multiplier means long runs of nothing followed by one payout, and a session budget has to survive the runs.
Room choice matters more than most players realise. Higher-tier rooms carry higher bet-per-shot minimums but also spawn bosses more often and are usually less crowded, which matters because in a shared room the player who lands the killing shot takes the multiplier. A cheap room full of six players auto-firing at the same whale pays one of them.
Seven Tips That Change Your Results
- Set a bullet budget, not a time budget. Decide the number of bullets you will buy at your bet size, load that amount and stop when it is spent. Reloading mid-boss is how sessions run away.
- Match bet size to bankroll. Your bet per shot should be no more than a five-hundredth of the session budget. MYR 500 supports MYR 1 shots; MYR 100 supports MYR 0.20.
- Shoot big when funded, small when not. Bosses pay the multiplier that makes the game worth playing, but only if you can afford the bullets to finish them. Below half your budget, switch to mid-size fish.
- Use lock-on on bosses, never on small fish. Lock-on empties bullets into one target; on a 2x fish that is pure waste.
- Pick less crowded rooms. Fewer players means fewer people competing for the kill shot on the same fish.
- Know the room maximum. Many rooms cap bet per shot; if your strategy needs a bigger bet on bosses, you need a higher room from the start.
- Leave after a boss kill. A boss payout is the best moment of the session and the moment most players give it back. Book it.
The Ocean King tips go deeper on target selection and weapon use, and apply to every title above.
Bonuses and Fishing Games
Read the contribution table before you take a bonus with fishing in mind. Most Malaysian welcome bonuses are slot-first:
| Casino | Offer | Wagering | Fishing treatment to confirm |
|---|---|---|---|
| BK8 | 288% casino welcome up to MYR 2,880; daily reload; weekly rescue bonus (5% cashback up to MYR 6,888) | 35x on the welcome | Whether arcade and fishing turnover counts towards the welcome; cashback normally counts it in full |
| Maxim88 | Main welcome at 28x; rebates and lucky draws | 28x | Rebate rate on fishing turnover |
| me88 | Segmented welcome bonuses; slots at 30x | 30x on slots | Which segment fishing falls under |
| 96M | 288% welcome up to MYR 2,880 | Published per promotion | Fishing eligibility; some promotions need a MYR 100 deposit |
A rebate on turnover is the bonus that fits fishing games, because fishing generates turnover fast. A match bonus with a heavy rollover that excludes fishing is a bonus you cannot clear with the game you came to play.
Fishing Games vs Slots
| Fishing games | Slots | |
|---|---|---|
| Bet unit | Per shot, many per minute | Per spin, one every few seconds |
| Player input | Aim, target choice, weapon use | None beyond bet size and feature buys |
| Shared or solo | Shared rooms; other players compete for kills | Solo |
| Return | About 95% to 97%, per room | About 94% to 97%, per game |
| Variance | Boss-driven; long flat stretches | Feature-driven; depends on volatility rating |
| Bonus contribution | Often excluded or reduced | Usually 100% |
| Best for | Players who want to do something during the session | Players chasing a specific feature or jackpot |
Our slot game guide covers the reel side. The honest comparison is that fishing games cost about the same per hour as a mid-volatility slot at an equivalent stake, with the difference that they feel cheaper because each bullet is small.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best fishing game at Malaysian online casinos?
Fishing God by Spadegaming is the most played title on the lobbies we track and sits at the top of BK8’s fishing section next to Fishing War, Alien Hunter and Zombie Party from the same studio, with JILI’s Royal Fishing alongside. Which is best for you depends on the bet-per-shot range and how often the boss fish spawn in the room you choose.
Is there an Ice Fishing game at BK8, me88, Maxim88 or 96M?
We could not find a title called Ice Fishing on BK8’s fishing lobby in September 2026, and the sites that promote “Ice Fishing Game Malaysia” do not name a game developer. Search the fishing lobby of the casino you use; if it is not there, the Spadegaming and JILI titles above are the verifiable alternatives.
Are fish shooting games skill-based?
Partly. Aiming and target selection change how your bullets are spent, but whether a hit kills a fish is decided by the game’s random number generator, weighted so that the room returns its published RTP over time. Skill reduces waste; it does not beat the house edge.
What is the RTP of fishing games?
Most fish shooting titles publish a return of roughly 95% to 97% of bullets spent, in line with mid-range slots. The figure is in the game’s help screen and can be configured per casino, so check it on the table you open rather than trusting a third-party list.
What is the minimum bet in a fishing game?
Bullets are priced per shot, and the cheapest rooms start around MYR 0.10 per shot at the casinos on this page, with VIP rooms running to MYR 10 or more per shot. Because you fire many shots a minute, the bet per shot understates how fast money moves.
Do casino welcome bonuses count fishing games?
Rarely at full weight. Most Malaysian welcome bonuses are written for slots and either exclude arcade and fishing games or count them at a reduced rate. Rebates and cashback, such as BK8’s weekly rescue bonus, usually count fishing turnover in full.
Can I play fishing games on my phone?
Yes. Spadegaming, JILI, Fa Chai, JDB and CQ9 fishing titles all run in the mobile browser and inside the BK8, me88, Maxim88 and 96M apps. Landscape mode and a stable connection matter, because a dropped session mid-boss still consumes the bullets you fired.
