Esports is the one betting market where a Malaysian punter can know more than the bookmaker. Football books employ hundreds of traders; esports books are staffed by a few dozen, prices are set from a small pool of data, and a patch note, a stand-in player or a map veto can move a match more than any transfer moves a Premier League game. That is why the sites we review carry esports through specialist providers rather than pricing it themselves, and why a bettor who follows one game closely can find value that a general sportsbook misses.
This guide is the esports section our Sports Betting Malaysia page only touches on. It covers the five casinos on our reviews with real esports sections, which games and tournaments you can bet on, every market from match winner to first blood, how to read the Malay and Asian handicap odds those books use, the bonuses written for esports, and the legal position. Casino facts come from the reviews on this site and from the operators’ esports lobbies, checked in September 2026.
Quick Answer
Deepest esports lobby: BK8, two dedicated esports books (TF Gaming and Esports Bull) covering thirteen titles, plus the fastest withdrawals on our reviews.
Best esports bonus: me88, a 200% esports welcome bonus at 5x wagering, the lowest rollover of any offer we track.
Best for live betting: 96M, in-play esports through CMD368 and BTi with Asian handicap odds.
Games on every book: League of Legends, Dota 2, Counter-Strike 2, Valorant and PUBG.
First market to learn: the map handicap. It is where most of the value in a best-of-three sits.
Best Esports Betting Sites in Malaysia
Every Malaysian-facing casino has a sportsbook; far fewer have an esports book that is more than a tab inside it. The five below do.
| Site | Esports provider(s) | Titles we verified | Esports offer | Withdrawal | |

| BK8 | TF Gaming (TFG Esports), Esports Bull | LoL, Dota 2, CS2, Valorant, PUBG, Honor of Kings, CrossFire, Rainbow Six, Rocket League, StarCraft II, NBA 2K, Warcraft III, Hearthstone | 100% sports welcome up to MYR 300 (12x); first-bet cashback promotions | 92% within 15 min | ReviewPlay Now |
| me88 | Triple sportsbook integration incl. CMD368 | Dota 2, CS2, Valorant, LoL | 200% esports welcome, 5x wagering | E-wallets 5–30 min | ReviewPlay Now |
| 96M | CMD368, BTi | Valorant, CS2, Dota 2, LoL | 288% welcome up to MYR 2,880; VIP programme | E-wallets under 10 min | ReviewPlay Now |
| Maxim88 | Sportsbook with esports markets | Major competitive titles | 28x main welcome; 0-Risk Bet cashback | Crypto 10–15 min | ReviewPlay Now |
| IVIP9 | Saba Sports, c-Sports, s-Sports | Dedicated e-sports section | See promotions page | See review | ReviewPlay Now |
BK8
BK8’s esports section is a separate lobby with its own banner and two providers: TF Gaming, which describes itself as the number one esportsbook provider in Asia, and Esports Bull. The game strip on the lobby lists League of Legends, Dota 2, Counter-Strike, PUBG, Honor of Kings, CrossFire, Rainbow Six, Valorant, Rocket League, StarCraft II, NBA 2K, Warcraft III and Hearthstone. The sports welcome bonus is 100% up to MYR 300 at 12x, and at the time of writing the sportsbook was running a first-bet guarantee with cashback up to MYR 300. Withdrawals are the fastest we have tested, with 92% inside 15 minutes. See the BK8 review.
me88
me88 is the site to open if the bonus matters. Its welcome offers are segmented by product, and the esports one is a 200% match at 5x wagering, against 8x on sports, 22x on live casino and an industry norm of 28x to 35x. The book is fed by a triple-sportsbook integration that includes CMD368, and the esports coverage we verified is Dota 2, CS2, Valorant and League of Legends. See the me88 review.
96M
96M’s sportsbook runs on CMD368 and BTi and lists global esports tournaments for Valorant, CS2, Dota 2 and League of Legends with pre-match, in-play and live betting at Asian handicap odds. E-wallet withdrawals clear in under ten minutes. See the 96M review.
Maxim88
Maxim88 folds esports into a sportsbook that also offers live streaming for sports events, and its 28x wagering on the main welcome bonus is lighter than BK8’s 35x casino offer. The 0-Risk Bet promotion, which refunds a losing first bet, is worth checking before a big tournament. See the Maxim88 review.
IVIP9
IVIP9 runs a dedicated e-sports section alongside Saba Sports, c-Sports and s-Sports. It is the smallest operator on this list and our IVIP9 review is the one to read for licence and banking detail before you deposit.
Esports You Can Bet On From Malaysia
| Game | Format | Biggest events | Markets you will see | Malaysian interest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| League of Legends | 5v5 MOBA, best-of-1 to best-of-5 | Worlds, MSI, LCK, LPL, LEC, LCS | Match, map, handicap, total maps, first blood, first tower, first dragon, kill totals | High; PCS and LPL matches fall in Malaysian evening hours |
| Dota 2 | 5v5 MOBA, best-of-2 to best-of-5 | The International, Riyadh Masters, ESL One, DreamLeague | Match, map, handicap, first blood, first Roshan, first to 10 kills, total kills | High; Southeast Asian teams are regular qualifiers |
| Counter-Strike 2 | 5v5 tactical shooter, best-of-1 to best-of-3 | Majors, IEM Cologne and Katowice, BLAST Premier | Match, map, map handicap, round handicap, total rounds, pistol round winner | Medium; deep, liquid markets |
| Valorant | 5v5 tactical shooter, best-of-3 to best-of-5 | VCT Masters, Champions, Pacific league | Match, map, map handicap, total maps, round totals | High; Paper Rex and the Pacific league draw regional crowds |
| PUBG and PUBG Mobile | Battle royale, multi-team lobbies | PUBG Global Championship, PMGC, PMPL | Tournament winner, top 3 finish, most kills, head-to-head placement | High for the mobile version |
| Mobile Legends: Bang Bang | 5v5 mobile MOBA | MPL Malaysia, MSC, M-series World Championship | Match, map, handicap when listed | Highest in the country; coverage varies by book, check before the event |
| Honor of Kings | 5v5 mobile MOBA | KPL, King Pro League Grand Finals | Match, map, handicap | Medium; listed on BK8 |
| Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League, StarCraft II | Tactical shooter, car football, RTS | Six Invitational, RLCS, ESL and GSL events | Match, map, handicap, totals | Niche; listed on BK8 |
| NBA 2K, Warcraft III, Hearthstone, CrossFire | Sports sim, RTS, card game, shooter | NBA 2K League, regional circuits, CrossFire Stars | Match winner, occasionally handicap | Niche; listed on BK8 |
Two things decide whether a market exists at all: the tournament tier and the time zone. Tier-one events such as Worlds, The International, a CS2 Major or VCT Champions are priced on every book weeks in advance. Tier-two and regional leagues appear a day or two before and often only as match winner. Mobile Legends, the most-watched esport in Malaysia, is the odd one out: coverage on the books above is inconsistent outside MPL and M-series events, so open the lobby before you plan around it.
Esports Bet Types Explained
| Market | What you are betting on | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Match winner (moneyline) | Which team wins the series | T1 1.45 vs Gen.G 2.70 | The default bet; often poor value on heavy favourites |
| Map winner | Which team wins a single map in the series | Map 2: Team A 1.85 vs Team B 1.95 | Prices move sharply after map 1 and the veto |
| Map handicap | Series result with a map spread applied | Favourite -1.5 maps at 2.10; underdog +1.5 at 1.70 | The core market in best-of-threes; see the odds section below |
| Total maps over/under | Whether the series goes the distance | Over 2.5 maps at 1.80 | Correlated with the underdog +1.5 |
| Correct score | Exact series score | 2-0 at 2.30, 2-1 at 3.10, 1-2 at 4.50, 0-2 at 4.80 | Higher payouts, higher margin |
| Round or kill handicap | Within a map: rounds in CS2 and Valorant, kills in MOBAs | Team A -3.5 rounds; total kills over 28.5 | Live markets; settle map by map |
| First blood, first tower, first Roshan, pistol round | The first event of a map | First blood Team B at 1.90 | Close to coin flips; treat as entertainment |
| Outright | Tournament winner, top 4, region of winner | Tournament winner at 6.00 | Money is locked for the event duration |
| Live (in-play) | Any of the above while the map is running | Odds refresh every few seconds | Stream delay matters; see below |
Reading Esports Odds: Decimal, Malay and Asian Handicap
The books behind Malaysian sites default to Malay odds and Asian handicaps, which confuse players who learned decimal prices. All three describe the same bet.
| Format | How to read it | Example | Same bet in decimal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Decimal | Total return per 1 unit staked, stake included | 1.85 | 1.85 |
| Malay (positive) | Profit per 1 unit staked; the favourite side | 0.85 | 1.85 |
| Malay (negative) | Amount you must risk to win 1 unit; the underdog side | -0.90 | 2.11 |
| Hong Kong | Profit per 1 unit staked, any price | 1.11 | 2.11 |
| Asian handicap (maps) | A map spread with no draw; half lines settle win or lose, whole lines can refund | -1.5 maps | Applied before the price |
Worked example: a best-of-three with the favourite at 1.45 to win the series and -1.5 maps at 2.10. If you think the favourite wins but the underdog is good enough to take a map, the underdog +1.5 at about 1.70 pays even when the underdog loses 1-2. If you think the favourite is a class above, -1.5 at 2.10 pays more than the 1.45 moneyline for the same 2-0 result. Most esports value lives in that choice, not in picking the winner.
Margin check: add the implied probabilities of both sides (1 divided by the decimal price). A match at 1.85 and 1.95 sums to about 105%, meaning a 5% margin; at 1.70 and 2.05 it is about 108%. Esports margins on Asian books run higher than football, so compare the two sides before you bet.
The Esports Books Behind Malaysian Sites
The Malaysian casino you log into is the shop front. The odds come from a handful of esports specialists and Asian sportsbook platforms, and knowing which one you are betting into explains the markets you see.
- TF Gaming (TFG Esports). A dedicated esports book with its own traders, used by BK8. Broad title coverage, including the Chinese mobile titles Honor of Kings and CrossFire, and fast settlement is its pitch.
- Esports Bull. BK8’s second esports book, which gives the site two prices on most tier-one matches; compare them before you bet.
- CMD368. An Asian sportsbook platform with an esports tab, used by 96M and part of me88’s triple integration. Malay and Hong Kong odds by default, Asian handicaps on maps, in-play markets.
- BTi. 96M’s second sportsbook platform, again with esports tournaments alongside football.
- Saba Sports, c-Sports, s-Sports. The sportsbook feeds behind IVIP9, with esports in the Saba lobby.
Because me88 and BK8 each carry more than one book, they are the two sites where you can line-shop without opening a second account.
Live Betting, Streams and the Delay Problem
In-play esports betting is where the margin grows and the mistakes happen. The public stream on Twitch or YouTube runs 30 to 90 seconds behind the game server, and the bookmaker’s traders are working from a faster feed. By the time you see a team fight won, the odds have already moved.
- Bet on state, not on action. Gold leads, map control and round economy are visible on the overlay and move slower than fights.
- Expect suspended markets. Books freeze the market around major objectives (Baron, Roshan, a bomb plant) and reopen at a new price. A bet that stays “pending” through a fight has usually been rejected.
- Use the halftime and map break. CS2 and Valorant sides switch at half; MOBAs restart at map break. Prices settle for a minute and you can bet against the market’s over-reaction to the last map.
- Streams inside the casino help. Maxim88 offers live streaming for sports events; where an esports stream is embedded in the book, its delay is usually shorter than Twitch.
Bonuses Built for Esports Bettors
| Site | Offer | Wagering | Read the fine print for |
|---|---|---|---|
| me88 | 200% esports welcome bonus | 5x | Minimum odds per bet; whether combos are required |
| BK8 | 100% sports welcome up to MYR 300; first-bet guarantee cashback up to MYR 300; weekly betting streak bonus (MYR 88 for daily bets) | 12x on the welcome | Whether esports counts as sports for each promotion; minimum odds |
| Maxim88 | 0-Risk Bet 100% cashback; main welcome at 28x | 28x | Cashback cap and the qualifying markets |
| 96M | 288% welcome up to MYR 2,880; VIP tiers | Published per promotion | Whether sportsbook turnover counts; some promotions need a MYR 100 deposit |
| IVIP9 | See promotions page | Published per promotion | Esports eligibility |
Sportsbook bonuses almost always carry a minimum odds rule, typically 1.50 or higher per selection, so bets on heavy favourites at 1.20 do not count towards the rollover. me88’s 5x on a 200% match is exceptional; at most books the honest comparison is between cashback offers, which pay on losses without a rollover at all.
How to Bet on Esports Without Guessing
- Pick one game. The edge comes from knowing rosters, patches and map pools better than a trader who covers eight titles. Nobody has that edge in four games at once.
- Read the patch notes before the tournament. A balance patch a week before an event changes which teams’ styles work. Books price on past results; results were on the old patch.
- Check rosters and stand-ins the morning of the match. A stand-in is the single biggest mispricing in esports, and it is announced on team social accounts hours before the book adjusts.
- Know the format. Best-of-one is close to a coin flip between similar teams; best-of-five favours the stronger team heavily. Handicaps behave differently in each.
- Stay in tier one. Match-fixing scandals in esports cluster in tier-two Counter-Strike and Dota events with small prize pools. If you cannot name the teams, do not bet the match.
- Compare prices. BK8 and me88 each carry two books; a 0.10 difference on a 2.00 price is 5% of your return.
- Bet flat, 1% to 2% of a bankroll you set aside for it. Our roulette strategy guide shows why chasing with bigger stakes fails; it fails the same way on a Dota series.
Is Esports Betting Legal in Malaysia?
Malaysia licenses no online sportsbook. Land-based betting is limited to the licensed casino at Genting Highlands and the number forecast operators; the Betting Act 1953 and the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 criminalise operating or assisting betting, and both were written long before the internet. Offshore sites licensed in Curaçao, the Philippines or Anjouan serve Malaysian players from outside the country, and the individual bettor sits in a grey area that the courts have not clearly resolved. Bank and e-wallet payments to gambling merchants are routinely blocked, which is why the sites above rely on collection agents and crypto.
Our position is the same across this site: we report what these sites offer and how they perform, we do not tell you an offshore licence makes betting legal in Malaysia, and we ask you to decide with the facts in front of you. If you bet, bet only if you are of legal age and only with money you can afford to lose. Our licensing guide explains what each foreign licence covers, and the responsible gambling page lists the tools and helplines.
How to Start Betting on Esports in Malaysia
- Register at one of the sites above; a phone number and email are enough to open the account, with identity documents before the first withdrawal.
- Deposit by Touch ’n Go, DuitNow or GrabPay from MYR 10 at BK8, bank transfer from MYR 20, or crypto if you hold it. The payment methods guide compares them.
- Open the esports lobby, not the general sportsbook tab; on BK8 it is a separate section with TF Gaming and Esports Bull side by side.
- Switch the odds format to decimal in the book’s settings if Malay prices confuse you.
- Start with map handicaps on tier-one matches in the game you follow, staked at 1% to 2% of your betting bankroll.
- Withdraw winnings the same day and keep the transaction reference. E-wallet payouts take 10 to 30 minutes at BK8 and under 10 minutes at 96M.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which is the best esports betting site in Malaysia?
BK8 has the deepest esports section on our reviews, with two dedicated esports books (TF Gaming and Esports Bull) covering League of Legends, Dota 2, Counter-Strike, Valorant, PUBG, Honor of Kings, Rainbow Six, Rocket League, StarCraft II, NBA 2K, Warcraft III and Hearthstone. me88 has the best esports bonus: a 200% welcome offer with only 5x wagering.
What esports can I bet on from Malaysia?
League of Legends, Dota 2, Counter-Strike 2, Valorant and PUBG are on every book. BK8’s esports lobby also lists Honor of Kings, CrossFire, Rainbow Six, Rocket League, StarCraft II, NBA 2K, Warcraft III and Hearthstone. Mobile Legends markets appear around MPL and M-series events; check the lobby before a tournament.
What is a map handicap in esports betting?
A handicap applied to the number of maps in a series. Backing the favourite at -1.5 maps in a best-of-three means they must win 2-0; backing the underdog at +1.5 wins if they take at least one map, even in a 2-1 loss.
What are Malay odds?
The odds format used on Asian sportsbooks such as CMD368 and Saba. A positive Malay price (0.85) is your profit per unit staked; a negative price (-0.90) is the amount you must risk to win one unit. Both are the same bet as decimal 1.85 and 2.11 respectively.
Is esports betting legal in Malaysia?
Malaysia licenses no online sportsbook. The Betting Act 1953 and Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 target operators and premises, and offshore sites licensed in Curaçao, the Philippines or Anjouan sit in a grey area for the individual player. Bet only if you are of legal age and with money you can afford to lose.
Can I bet live on esports matches?
Yes. 96M offers pre-match, in-play and live betting through CMD368 and BTi, and BK8’s esports books settle in-play markets. Remember that Twitch and YouTube streams run 30 to 90 seconds behind the game, so the odds have already moved by the time you see a team fight.
What is the minimum esports bet in Malaysia?
Most books accept single bets from MYR 5 to MYR 10; deposits start at MYR 10 for e-wallets at BK8 and MYR 50 at 96M for most methods.
