DuitNow Casino Malaysia: How DuitNow QR and DuitNow Transfer Deposits Work at Online Casinos (2026)

DuitNow has become the default way Malaysians pay for almost everything, and online casinos followed. PayNet, which runs the network, processed 8.44 billion transactions in 2025, and DuitNow QR volume alone doubled to 3 billion in the same year. When a casino cashier shows a DuitNow button today, that is what most Malaysian players click.

The word “DuitNow” on a casino cashier covers three different things, though, and they carry very different risks. One is a proper QR generated by a payment gateway and credited automatically. One is a bank transfer to a phone number that belongs to somebody you will never meet. The third is an e-wallet scan. This guide explains all three, lists the reviewed casinos that accept DuitNow with their minimums and speeds, works through deposits and withdrawals step by step, and covers the mule-account problem that the marketing pages leave out.

Casino figures come from the reviews on this site and from our payment methods guide, where DuitNow is one section among many. This page is the full version of that section.

Quick Answer

Best DuitNow deposit method: a dynamic DuitNow QR generated by the casino cashier. Scan it in your banking app or e-wallet; credited in 1 to 3 minutes.

Casinos that accept it: BK8, me88, Maxim88 (DuitNow QR), 96M and KK8.

Fastest DuitNow withdrawal: BK8, 10 to 30 minutes, fee-free, MYR 50 minimum.

Fees: none at the casino; DuitNow transfers up to RM5,000 are free for individuals under Bank Negara policy.

The risk to manage: transfers to a personal “proxy” account can be mule accounts. Prefer gateway QR, keep amounts modest, never use a borrowed account.

What DuitNow Is

DuitNow is not an app. It is the real-time payment infrastructure run by Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet), the company formed in 2017 when MEPS and MyClear merged, under Bank Negara Malaysia’s oversight. Every Malaysian bank and the major e-wallets connect to it, which is why a Maybank customer can pay a CIMB account or a Touch ’n Go wallet instantly, at any hour, without knowing an account number.

Two products sit on that rail:

  • DuitNow Transfer sends money to a proxy ID, which is a mobile number, NRIC number, passport number or business registration number linked to an account. You type the ID, the app shows the registered name, you confirm.
  • DuitNow QR is Malaysia’s single national QR standard. A merchant shows one QR and any bank app or e-wallet can scan it. A static QR is a fixed code for a shop; a dynamic QR is generated per transaction with the amount and reference embedded, and expires after use.

Casinos are not licensed merchants in Malaysia, so they cannot register for DuitNow directly. Everything a casino calls DuitNow runs through an intermediary: a payment gateway, a collection agent or an e-wallet. Which intermediary decides how safe the deposit is.

The Three Ways a Casino “Accepts DuitNow”

What the cashier calls it What actually happens Credited Risk
DuitNow QR via a payment gateway (Help2Pay, EeziePay, TrustPay, TruePay and similar) The gateway generates a dynamic QR with the exact amount; you scan it in any bank app or e-wallet; the gateway confirms to the casino automatically 1–3 minutes, automatic Lowest: no manual matching, the QR expires, and the receiving account is the gateway’s
DuitNow Transfer to a proxy ID (a phone number or business registration shown in the cashier) You send a normal DuitNow transfer to a person or company account; a casino operator matches your reference and amount by hand Minutes to an hour, manual Highest: the receiving account may be a mule account, and a mistyped reference means a delayed credit
DuitNow via e-wallet (Touch ’n Go, GrabPay, Boost, ShopeePay) You scan the same QR with the e-wallet app instead of a bank app; the e-wallet pays through DuitNow 1–5 minutes Low, with the e-wallet’s own limits as a natural cap

You can tell which one you are getting by what the cashier shows. A QR code with the amount already filled in and a countdown timer is a gateway QR. A phone number, a bank name and an instruction to type a reference code is a proxy transfer. If the cashier shows a static QR with no amount, treat it as a proxy transfer.

Maxim88 is the one casino in the group that names DuitNow QR explicitly, and its cashier is fronted by the gateways that generate dynamic codes, which is the safest combination. BK8 wins on the way out, with DuitNow withdrawals in 10 to 30 minutes and no fee. The 96M and me88 listings say “DuitNow” without specifying QR or transfer; check which one the cashier shows on the day.

DuitNow QR Deposit, Step by Step

  1. Open the cashier and choose DuitNow or QR Pay. Enter the amount. Maxim88, me88 and 96M start at MYR 50; BK8 accepts from MYR 10 but needs MYR 50 for the welcome bonus.
  2. Wait for the dynamic QR. It should show the amount and a timer, usually 5 to 15 minutes. If it shows no amount, stop and read the transfer section below instead.
  3. Scan from your banking app or e-wallet. Maybank, CIMB, Public Bank, RHB, Hong Leong, Touch ’n Go, GrabPay and Boost all read DuitNow QR. Do not screenshot the code and pay later; it will have expired.
  4. Do not edit the amount. A gateway matches on the exact figure. A rounded amount is an unmatched payment and a support ticket.
  5. Confirm with PIN or biometrics. Keep the bank’s reference number.
  6. Return to the casino tab. Our tests at BK8 and Maxim88 put the average QR deposit at one to three minutes, with the fastest under a minute. If nothing has appeared after ten, go to the troubleshooting section.

DuitNow Transfer Deposit, Step by Step

  1. Read the recipient carefully. The cashier shows a proxy ID (a phone number or business registration) and a bank. Note the exact reference code it asks you to include.
  2. Type the ID into DuitNow Transfer in your banking app. Your app will display the registered name before you confirm. If the name is a private individual and the casino gave you a company name, or the reverse, stop and ask live chat.
  3. Send the exact amount with the reference code in the recipient reference field. Nothing else in that field.
  4. Submit the deposit form on the casino side with the amount, your bank and the transaction reference; some cashiers ask for a screenshot of the receipt.
  5. Wait for manual matching. This is where transfers lose to QR: a person has to reconcile your payment, and at busy hours that takes longer than the three-minute QR standard.

Use a transfer only when the casino offers no QR, keep the amount modest, and never send to an ID that changes from one deposit to the next without explanation. A collection account that rotates daily is the signature of a mule network, covered below.

Withdrawing via DuitNow

Withdrawals go to a bank account or e-wallet in your own name. The casino sends a DuitNow transfer to your proxy ID or account number, which is why the name on your verified casino account must match the receiving account exactly; a mismatch is the single most common reason a first withdrawal is held.

  • BK8: DuitNow and Touch ’n Go withdrawals in 10 to 30 minutes, MYR 50 minimum, MYR 50,000 daily cap (higher for VIP), no fee; 92% of all withdrawals inside 15 minutes in our 30-day test.
  • 96M: e-wallet withdrawals in under 10 minutes, no fee.
  • me88: e-wallet withdrawals in 5 to 30 minutes, from 5 minutes for VIP members.
  • Maxim88: per-method times in the cashier; all transactions in MYR with no fee.

Expect a KYC request before the first withdrawal at every casino above: identity document, sometimes proof of address. Have them ready before you request the cashout rather than after.

Limits and Fees

The Mule-Account Problem

Because casinos cannot hold Malaysian merchant accounts, deposits that are not routed through a gateway end up in accounts belonging to individuals or shell companies who are paid to receive them. Those are mule accounts. Malaysian banks and the police maintain shared records of them, PayNet operates a National Fraud Portal that lets banks and regulators trace funds through the network, and accounts that receive gambling proceeds get frozen, sometimes with player deposits still inside.

The exposure for you is twofold. Money sent to an account that is frozen the same afternoon does not reach the casino and is hard to recover. And an account that repeatedly transacts with flagged accounts can itself be flagged, which is a conversation with your bank that nobody wants.

  • Prefer cashier-generated DuitNow QR. A gateway’s receiving account is a business account under the gateway’s name, not a rotating personal one.
  • Keep individual deposits modest. Large single transfers to unfamiliar accounts are what fraud filters look for.
  • Never use a borrowed or rented account to deposit or withdraw, and never let anyone “cuci” through yours. That is the definition of a mule.
  • Never share an OTP or TAC with casino support, a “deposit agent” or anyone else. No legitimate deposit needs one from you after your own bank app has confirmed.
  • Watch for rotating recipients. If the proxy ID changes every day, the casino is using a mule network; deposit elsewhere.

Our guide to unsafe casinos covers the other warning signs, and the blacklist records brands whose collection accounts have swallowed player deposits.

For most Malaysian players the ranking is DuitNow QR first for convenience, FPX as the fallback when a QR will not load, and crypto when the bank rails are blocked or the amount is large. Troubleshooting: Paid but Not Credited

Symptom Likely cause Fix
Bank app says paid, casino balance unchanged after 10 minutes Gateway callback delayed, or manual matching queue Send the bank reference and a receipt screenshot to live chat; do not pay again
QR will not scan or shows “expired” Dynamic QR timed out Generate a new one from the cashier; never reuse a screenshot
Bank app rejects the payment Daily limit reached, or the bank’s fraud filter Raise the limit in the app; try a smaller amount; use FPX or crypto if the filter persists
Name shown does not match the cashier Wrong proxy ID, or a rotating collection account Do not send; confirm with live chat; consider another casino
Deposit credited to the wrong amount Amount edited before payment Contact support with the receipt; the difference is usually corrected manually
Withdrawal “pending” beyond the published time KYC not complete, or name mismatch on the receiving account Upload documents; confirm the receiving account is in your own name

Frequently Asked Questions

Which online casinos in Malaysia accept DuitNow?

Of the casinos we have reviewed, BK8, me88, Maxim88, 96M and KK8 all list DuitNow. Maxim88 offers DuitNow QR specifically; BK8 pays DuitNow withdrawals in 10 to 30 minutes; me88 and 96M list DuitNow among their e-wallet options with a MYR 50 minimum deposit.

Is DuitNow QR or DuitNow Transfer better for casino deposits?

DuitNow QR generated by the casino’s cashier is better. The QR is dynamic, carries the exact amount and reference, expires after use, and is credited automatically in one to three minutes. A DuitNow Transfer to a phone number or business ID depends on a person matching your payment manually and often lands in a collection account you cannot vet.

How long does a DuitNow casino deposit take?

One to three minutes for a QR deposit at the casinos we tested, with the fastest under a minute. Transfers to a proxy ID arrive instantly at the bank but can take longer to be credited because the casino has to match the reference by hand.

Are there fees for DuitNow casino deposits?

Usually none. Bank Negara Malaysia’s policy makes DuitNow transfers of up to RM5,000 free for individuals, the casinos on this page charge no deposit fee, and a payment gateway fee of 0.5% to 1% is uncommon at the major brands. Touch ’n Go reloads from some banks cost RM1 to RM2.

What is the DuitNow limit for casino deposits?

Your daily DuitNow limit is set in your own banking app, not by the casino, and can usually be adjusted within the bank’s ceiling. On the casino side, minimum deposits run from MYR 10 at BK8 to MYR 50 at me88 and 96M; per-transaction maximums are shown in the cashier.

Can my bank account be frozen for a DuitNow casino deposit?

It can be flagged if you transfer to an account that later turns out to be a mule account, because banks and police trace funds through such accounts. Using cashier-generated DuitNow QR through a payment gateway, keeping amounts modest and never transacting through borrowed accounts reduces the risk; it does not remove it.

Can I withdraw casino winnings to DuitNow?

Yes at the casinos that support it. BK8 pays DuitNow and Touch ’n Go withdrawals in 10 to 30 minutes with a MYR 50 minimum and a MYR 50,000 daily cap. The receiving account name must match the name on your verified casino account.
